Mitch Hyman is the creator of the cult-favorite comic Bubba the Redneck Werewolf, as well as the producer of its hit indie film adaptation. (Fun fact: It even recently aired on German TV – complete with a local dub!)

What it’s about: Love is tough enough when two angels, one fallen and one in grace, get caught up in God’s plans for the Apocalypse.

Project status: Film completed.

What’s next: Currently submitting to film festivals and prepping for eventual digital release.

  • Features the fan-favorite “Satan” character from the Bubba the Redneck Werewolf comic and movie.
  • This short is co-written by and stars Mitch Hyman, Douglas Paszkiewicz (creator of Arsenic Lullaby), and Amy Zunk.

What it’s about: Inspired by a real-life case! At the suggestion of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a student journalist agrees to investigate a supernatural mystery they can’t take on themselves. But as he starts to unravel a sordid and terrifying history that spans several centuries, demonic and ghostly events in present-day 1974 threaten to change his life forever.

Project status: Screenplay complete.

What’s next: Option the screenplay or obtain financing to self-produce the film independently.

  • Co-written by John Catapano, who experienced the events of the screenplay first-hand as a student in the early 1970s, and writer Mitch Hyman.
  • This story is the sole property of Dr. Catapano and was not included in or part of any other previously produced or published works featuring the Warrens or any other person claiming rights to their work.

[Novels & Short Stories] Vinnie & Mook – Hit Men of the Supernatural

What it’s about: Two retired Miami mob hit men are forced back into the game because of a last favor owed to a fellow mobster. This favor becomes a curse that begins a new chapter in their lives dealing with things that won’t die or are already dead. Talk about frustrating…

Project status: One novel and one short story collection complete and currently self-published. Another novel currently being written.

What’s next:

  • Pitching current and future works in the series to traditional publishers.
  • Exploring both licensing and opportunities to adapt series to other media.

What it’s about: After his live-action film debut, Bubba, Bobby Jo, and the denizens of Broken Taint, Florida live on!

The planned Bubba the Redneck Werewolf graphic novel collects the best of Bubba’s adventures, including the newest (and hard-to-find) story: “The Unmaking of the Bubba the Redneck Werewolf Movie.” 

Project status: In pre-production.
